Introduction to what we typically do

Vessel Contents

Water (10%), solvent (60%) and gas (30%) phases.  Solvent and gas mixtures specified in the relevant standards.  Samples typically maintained in the solvent phase.

Pressure and Temperature

Gas phase pressurised to 60bar at ambient, sealed and then the vessel taken to test temperature.  This ensures the same reactive volume of H2S for each test.  Pressure and temperature are monitored throughout

Standard Post-Exposure Testing

Volume, hardness and tensile property changes.

Lifetime Predictions

Testing of samples at periodic time intervals, at a minimum of three temperatures,, allows for lifetime predictions using the Arrhenius approach as specified in NORSOK M-710 and ISO 23936.  All test temperatures above those of the operating environment.
