Demanding Environment Test Facility Unveiled

orings

ARTIS proudly opened its new facility to allow ageing of materials in extreme chemical and thermal environments. The facility contains autoclave vessels to allow testing of elastomeric and thermoplastic materials in sour gas environments following the procedures outlined in the relevant standards, such as NORSOK M-710 and ISO 23936, but with a view of offering a flexible service to accommodate the clients desired test conditions. We also intend to offer the ability for clients to provide additional vessels for use in a specific programme where required.

Equipment: Six autoclaves capable of sour gas exposure testing following:

NORSOK M-710 (ed. 3 Sep 2014)
ISO 23936-1:2009
ISO 23936-2:2011
NACE TM0187-2011

Temperature Range: Ambient to +225°C.

Pressure Range: Atmospheric to 110bar.

Gas Mixtures:
2% H2S/ 3% CO2/ 95% CH4
10% H2S/ 5% CO2/ 85% CH4
5% CO2/ 95% CH4
Others upon request

In addition to the physical property assessments detailed in the relevant standards, ARTIS has a fully equipped analytical suite to conduct detailed analyses to better understand the resistance of materials to sour service conditions. Understanding of the mechanisms involved in property modification could be used to direct future material development and identify strategies that, potentially, offer improved in-service life. Please contact us for further details.
