Compounds
One of the key strengths of ARTIS is the ability to mix ‘lab scale’ formulations on our fully instrumented 1.6 litre tangential mixing machine and two roll mills. We also possess a fully instrumented Brabender mixer, capable of compounding on smaller scales in a wider variety of materials including thermoplastic elastomers. Three presses are used to mould samples for testing.
All formulations, raw materials and scheduling in the laboratory is controlled and documented using ‘Eclipse’ LIMS software.
We have the equipment to test elastomers to many industry standards and have the knowledge and experience necessary to develop compounds to meet even the most demanding of customer specifications.
As a group we are particularly strong in the following areas:
- Compounding for food contact applications, for example, in the development of materials for compliance with FDA regulations and BfR Recommendations.
- We are experienced in the development of rubber formulations in all commonly used elastomers and also those which find use in niche areas such as HNBR, Silicone, and FKM fluoroelastomer.
- The development of formulations for offshore oil applications
- The development of formulations for high temperature / dynamic applications.
- Silane reaction in silica filled formulations.
